Adsense- Would be nice - Maybe!

Another day of having to do other stuff. More shopping, more gardening, more family time (shouldn't complain). it is just very frustrating not being able to just get on with the adsense work.

I noticed that Blogger seem to be having problems. Havr tried to replublish several times but keep getting error messages. Hope they sort it out soon. Best get on or I'll never get finished.

Adsense -Lunchtime reading!

Isn't it amazing that when you have something you really want to get on with, everything else under the sun gets in the way. I have been trying for the past two days to get the next Adsense site up. I did my research with the Traffic Estimator and of course I was surprised by the result. However it does give me somewhere to start.

The only thing that I have been able to do towards my Adsense business is to read Joel Comm's 3rd edition book during my break time at work. Unfortunatly my break time is usually about 1 .30 am GMT. The pitfalls of a night job.

Most of today was spent trying to take care of those little jobs around the house. You know, those jobs that really need a concerted effort or they will never get done. Like Gardening. Mowing the lawn, pruning the bushes and weeding the flower beds. Deep joy - NOT!

Here is a link to a very basic Lawn site. www.read-free.info/lawn

I realise it needs a lot of work doing to it but it's a start. Once things settle down I hope to be able to work on my sites and make them at least half decent. If anyone has any suggestions, hints or tips please feel free top leave a comment.

Must go.

Sunshine after the rain

Not a bad day considering I didn't get much done. This afternoon (GMT) I went for an interview at a IT training center and got accepted for training. In a nutshell this means I should be able to fix my own computer when the damn thing crashes. :-)

To my family this means that I will end up with MCSA, MCSE and a IT Security qualification. It also means that I will be in a position where I can get a much better job and leave that WHSh*t newpaper job. The very tiny downside is that It will take best part of 8 months to complete my training and I'll have to keep the night job in the meantime. Given the good news I didn't mind too much about getting lost on the way home and sitting in traffic in the pouring rain for nearly 2 hours.

On the Adsense front I did manage to play around with the traffic estimator and this has given me a good indication of where I'm heading.

More tomorrow.

And Now to Get Started.

Having read and viewedloads of ebooks and videos from Joel Comm's Adsense Templates I now must get started on putting up a web site. All the 'Guru's' recommend starting with something that you are interested in so with 150 subjects to choose from there must be something that sounds good or at least I might know something about.

I find that with all this information overload you can get a great many ideas but finding the time to put them into practice is something else. Her Ladyship is none too happy with the amount of time I spend in front of the computer and after the last batch of templates from another source which failed to impress anybody, she is very wary. Still the money is spent and it would be silly not to let me try and at least recoup the outlay. I've no doubt that any more would be most welcome though.

It seems the next step is to start researching a few keywords to see what might give me the best chance of success. Google Traffic estimator here we come....

That was fun!

Just spent the past few hours trying to placeAdsense on this blog. Only managed to get one half banner at the top but it wouldn't let me do any more until my Adsense account has been verified.

The manual also covers WordPress and Moveable Type. I guess I'll progress onto them in due course but for now I lay down in a darkened room might be inorder. These screens do your head in.
So here we are. A trainee Adsense millionaire in the making. Joel Comm's Adsense templates arrived in the post this morning and i can't wait to get started. As a complete newbie I haven't got a clue what I'm doing but I followed his instructions in his ebook "Getting Started with Blogging and Google Adsense". I guess I'm going to be doing a lot of reading over the comming weeks and months, just to find out what I'm supposed to be doing.

The templates took a fair chunk out of our budget and Her Ladyship was not really convinced. I'm going to have to earn something before I can spend any more money, but I guess that's fair enough.

As I write this I haven't even got any Adsense Ads set up yet on this blog so it's back to the manual.

I have one site up and 'running' so to speak. I muddled through but feel free to take a look and see what you think. www.golftraining.read-free.info

If any one out there who might by chance read this and have something constructive to add, please do. I'm going to need all the help I can get. If you're really brilliant I might even post your link for you.

I'll best get on now.
